While walking around the Cannabis Cup in Denver, CO looking for new and innovative products I came across one company that is really doing something fun and unique. Eyce Molds is a company that developed a molding kit that you can create a water bong made 100% of ice! This immediately sparked my interest since I always put ice in my bong to make sure I get a nice, cool hit. I did not get a chance to test it out at The Cup but luckily the guys over at Eyce Molds were kind enough to send me a sample to try for myself.

When I received the package and opened it up it had 6 pieces plus a user manual in the box. The kit comes with Silicone Mold, Core Pin, Grommet, Down Stem, Mouth Piece and Stand. It does not come with it’s own slide or bowl so you will need to provide that. Initially the instructions were a little complicated but once we watched the video on their website it was very clear what we had to do. To prepare the water bong and put it in the freezer took less than 5 minutes once we knew what we were doing. I then proceeded to let it freeze over night in my freezer. One thing to consider is the size of your freezer, I personally had to remove a shelf in order to place it in up-right. You need to have at least 1 foot of vertical freezer space in order to fit it.

The next morning the first thing I wanted to do is test out my Eyce Molds water bong. Everything was frozen and looked perfect. Taking the ice mold out of the molding kit took only a few minutes. I used my sink and ran hot water over the silicon molding until the bong could slide out. I then put it back in the freezer for about 20 – 30 min so it could freeze back up. Once it was all frozen again, I went ahead and took my first rip and I was more than satisfied. The hit was definitely cool and the size of the bong itself allows for a huge hit if you want it. On the side of the bong there is also a carb, or at least mine ended up that way, where you can just place your finger over it and release when you want to clear the chamber. I suppose you can pull out the bowl as well but again, for some reason I had a carb so that worked just fine!

Over a few days I used the Eyce Mold water bong more and more. This is not the type of bong you can leave out or use in long sessions. I like to use it as a change up piece, smoke a quick bowl and put it back in the freezer for later. Definitely a cool smoking device to break out when all the buddies come over for a session. I would say depending on the weather where you live, the mold starts to get watery after about 5-7 minutes. I am in Florida where it is very hot right now so that could also speed up the process.

I have also seen it recommended to put water in it as well. I would advise that you pre-freeze the water first because if you put room temperature water in this bong it will melt the bottom very quickly. I have not been using any water at all and still feel i get a quality hit each time. After spending an extended amount of time with the Eyce Mold, I can definitely say it is a great way to enjoy your smoke. I do not believe it is an everyday use type of bong but can for sure get a party started with you and your friends. I have it stored in my freezer so I can pull it out at any time and start smoking but that may not be feasible for everyone. Whenever people come over and I break it out, everyone is really excited to try it and that makes it all worth while. You can purchase your very own Eyce Mold on their website www.eycemolds.com for $89.99 and also follow their social media below to get even more close up images and creative uses for your Eyce Mold.
